The air conditioning in my Carnival vehicle stopped working properly one day. After searching through several blogs, I found that a common issue with Carnival vehicles is that the resistor component often fails, and this often causes the connector wiring to melt.
To address the problem at a low cost, I decided to purchase and replace the resistor component.
The replacement was easier than I expected, but unfortunately, the air conditioning that I thought was fixed stopped working again. The car turned into a sauna during the summer, and I was getting frustrated. 😭
Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the air conditioning worked while driving but failed to operate when stopped.
After researching further, I discovered that the cooling fan operates only at high speeds and not at low speeds, which explained the issue. I decided to recheck the wiring connector connected to the resistor to accurately diagnose the problem.
It turned out that the connector had melted, causing it not to fit securely onto the resistor, resulting in insufficient power to the cooling fan.
Ultimately, I removed the connector from a new wiring harness and transplanted it, and finally, the air conditioning started working normally.
It seemed simple in hindsight, but the process was quite challenging... 😭
Below is the procedure for the work done.
1. Replace the resistor.(just remove two bolts.)
2. Preparing new wiring
3. Remove the melted connector.
4. Extraction of the connector from the new wiring.
That's all :)
